Kim Nile

Actor, Singer, Musician

Nestled in the rural community of Mt. Shasta since 1997, Kim has flourished in her artistic endeavors. Her artistic journey began in grade school drama programs and middle school choirs. Although she wanted to pursue these things in college out of high school, she lacked confidence in herself and received a Liberal Arts Degree with a minor in music from San Jose State University in 1991.

While homeschooling her kids, she took dance lessons in Ballet and Flamenco for ten years. It wasn't until a brush with cancer that her life took on a completely different direction and achieving greater confidence in herself. She observed her kids enjoying drama class. She thought, "I can sing and dance, why not try acting?" When she arrived at College of the Siskiyous, she fell in love with theatre and acting. She received her AA degrees in Performance and Musical Theatre. She continued to act with the small theatre company, New Frontier Theatre Company and was very involved in producing and acting in 6 shows a year for numerous years.

Always one for taking on new challenges and personal growth, she produced and acted in a one-person show, "Shirley Valentine" for two years.

Looking to expand her theatre knowledge, she was accepted in Southern Oregon University's Masters of Theatre program in 2020--right in time for the pandemic. She excelled in her studies and graduated with the MoTS degree in July 2023 and works at her alma mater, College of the Siskiyous, as the Technical Supervisor, designing set, lights and sound and overseeing the Tech Production Lab, as students work behind the scenes.

Acting, however, is her first love, and she seeks to continue to act. One project she is working on is creating another one-person show, "Little Women: Louisa Tells the Story". It is a show where she plays the author narrating and playing all of the different characters in the book. She hopes to present it to schools in assemblies and workshops one day.
