In her free hours, she enjoys hiking with her miniature poodle, Rojo. She absolutely adores him and he is her constant companion. She hikes about 3 times a week, often alone, though, friends have decided they want to go along on her 4 mile hikes. They are always welcome. On Sundays, she hikes with her husband Marty, and that is always a treat. He brings such a different perspective on her hikes, as he grew up in the area and his father was a forester.
On Saturdays, you can usually find Kim and Rojo at agility class with the awesome Emily Gaydos, "The Clicker Coach". She does it for fun and companionship with Rojo, rather than for competition. She's also met some great friends through it!
Kim's husband, Marty is truly "the wind beneath her wings." She could not do what she does without him. And he has been her support through the many years they have been married. He has always encouraged her to grow and explore new things and has been dedicated to her through the best and worst of times. He is her soul-mate.
One of Kim's favorite activities to recharge is to curl up on the couch with Rojo, a comfy blanket and candles lit with a good book. She tends to like to read Literary Fiction, where the focus is on the character arc, as well as Romance or Fantasy novels. She also enjoys reading biographies and memoirs of favorite actors. Often, she listens to an audiobook while needlepointing. A common reading goal is to read 75 books in a year.
